Administrative Personnel Conference Update

As you know, about this time you would be getting information about registering for the NCCPA Administrative Personnel Conference. However, given the budget crisis that has hit our nation as well as our own state, colleges and universities are doing their part to try to balance an unknown budgetary impact. Erskine Bowles, UNC System President, has issued some guidelines to reduce spending, the first of which was to “freeze” travel. And while we know that the NCCPA Administrative Personnel Conference is a low cost event, it is still considered to be travel for most participants.

Given this directive from the UNC System President, and despite NC State University’s hard work in planning for the 2009 NCCPA Administrative Personnel Conference, including support from a few upper-level administrators at NC State, we don’t feel we are able to offer the conference at this time.

We are working hard to find alternative ways to appreciate you. So please bear with us as we do the best we can in these uncertain budgetary times. We appreciate all your hard work and all that you do to help make your college/university system run more smoothly. We hope that we can have an opportunity to show that appreciation in the very near future. We will keep you posted on any developments for the NCCPA Administrative Professionals Conference.

Sincerely,
