2011-2012 NCCPA Award Winners
OUTSTANDING NEW PROFESSIONAL                                                                        
Ethan Hutchinson, Guilford College
The nominee must have worked in a professional role in the college personnel field for up to but not more than three years. The nominee shall be new to the field working full -time and not in a graduate assistantship. Must be currently employed by a post-secondary institution in North Carolina, and must have made a contribution to a student affairs program, research or related activity which is considered to be above the expectations of a new professional. Examples of outstanding performance include: providing leadership, developing new institutional goals, displaying an interest in continued professional development, and engaging in an activity which is creative, unique or innovative.

OUTSTANDING COMMITTEE MEMBER                                                                       
Brian Merritt, Central Carolina Community College
The nominee has made a significant contribution to a NCCPA Committee, and has contributed to the growth of NCCPA in one or more of the following ways: implements new and creative programs and services, attends committee meetings and NCCPA events, volunteers for special projects and demonstrates commitment to NCCPA and leadership in the field of college student personnel. This nominee should be a committee member, but not the chair of the committee.

OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL CONTRIBUTION                   
Shelly Myers, UNCW and Julie Beck, NC State University
The nominee is a practicing professional who has worked in the college personnel field or a supporting discipline for at least three years, and must be employed or attending graduate school in North Carolina.  The award winner must demonstrate leadership in one or more of the following areas: creative programming, staff supervision, teaching, research, mentoring new professionals, or making lasting contributions to the profession through presentations, publications, and participation in professional organizations like NCCPA.

OUTSTANDING GRADUATE STUDENT                                    
Jessica Quattrucci, UNC Greensboro
The nominee must be currently enrolled in a graduate program offered by a secondary institution in North Carolina, is not currently working full -time, and has made a contribution to a student affairs program, research, or related activity that is considered above the expectations of a graduate student. Examples of outstanding performance include: providing leadership in developing new services or programs, demonstrating commitment to student development theory and institutional goals, displaying an interest in continued professional development, conference presentations, in-service training and committee involvement.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE IN SUPPORT OF THE PROFESSION
Dr. Lisa Chapman, Central Carolina Community College
The nominee must be a practicing professional (i.e., faculty member, administrator, or staff member) employed at a college or university located in North Carolina. Must have made a significant contribution in support of the profession and must not be a student personnel/student development professional, but should have demonstrated outstanding service to or made some other type of significant contribution to the post secondary student personnel
