THE CONFERENCE:

LEAD brings together leaders from campuses across the state of North Carolina to a one-day drive-in conference.  This conference is specifically geared toward current and rising student leaders and Mount Olive College will host the 12th annual gathering sponsored by the North Carolina College Personnel Association (NCCPA).  The conference will allow students to network, learn how other leadership teams and programs function and to get ideas to bring back to campus. The conference is filled with fun, educational sessions, keynote lunch address, round table discussions and lots of extras!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

The first question that often comes to mind is, “Who should attend?”  This conference is designed to reach across the campus boundaries.  Student participants, including members from Student Government, Residence Life, Student Activities, Clubs, Organizations, Greek Life and the general student body, will all benefit from attending.  Even graduate students and professionals will have time to meet and share ideas.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Nancy Hunter Denney is a nationally recognized keynote speaker, author, leadership trainer and educator. Although her goal is one of inspiration, she does not consider herself a “motivational” speaker. She is an educator who seeks to inspire in others a personal sense of responsibility (and obligation) for serving a greater social good. She passionately presents her own original definitions, theories and lessons on life and leadership while possessing a unique ability to teach audience members how to apply them. Prior to starting her own speaking business in 1993, Nancy Hunter Denney worked in higher education student affairs – an experience which differentiates her from many other speakers and speaks to her love of helping others learn and grow. This will be the second time that Nancy Hunter Denney has spoken at the LEAD Conference (Meredith College and now Mount Olive College).
